Republican Party which claims my values stomp all over them.
4/25/2009 - Well tax day is behind us, the Tea Parties were a huge
success and people are getting it. But what changed? I see words from
both the left and right changing, but actions are still the same. When
are WE THE PEOPLE going to figure out, it's not what they say, it's what
they do!! The one interesting thing was how Fox and CNN covered the Tea
Parties, one showed it as a fringe element, the other as what it was.
Propaganda or truth?? Again look at the next Contract and see what you
think ... I want it simple, yet
3/13/2009 - Friday the 13th, Stimulus, bank bail outs, omnibus
spending bills, ear marks ... all we can do is pray the economy does not
implode. Strange how this started by the people getting over extended
and is being "solved" by the government way over extending!!
Guess we should follow their lead!! Don't know about you but I can't ...
the banks we bailed out will not free up any of the money!! Got a job,
ZERO late payments and ok credit!! SOLUTION - VOTE EACH AND EVERY ONE
OUT!! CLEAN HOUSE!! Vote for whomever signs on below!! I don't care if
your guy is good ... doing that allows all the bad ones free reign.
11/4/2008 the Republican Party paid for their errors. They have lost
complete control over any aspect of our Government, the only saving
grace is to date they have avoided a filibuster proof senate. Now
the question is will they continue to compromise or will they USE the filibuster??
Some blame George Bush, but there was a long time where Bush and the
Republican congress could have done some good. Neither did what was
needed ... or at least enough.
In the last 4
election cycles I have voted for the Libertarian candidate when ever
possible. Many said my vote was wasted but I wanted to make a point.
Well this election made me realize, no one wants to hear that point. As
good as the Libertarian party is, they look like nut cases when it comes
to legalizing drugs. I understand the point that the billions spent on enforcement are
failing and we could save those dollars, regulate and tax the
drugs like alcohol and use some of the excess savings and revenue on rehab and education.
The net result is a major tax savings to us!!
Anyway, I digress ... with this election I realize that the only way
to move an agenda is through one of the major parties and in a major
move. Look at what happened in 1994 with Newts Contract with America. If
the Republicans kept true to that message they would have remained and
gained power. But alas, they have lost it, looking more and more like
the tax and spend democrats that they complain about!! The main problem
with the "Contact" was not everyone was on board, most
progress died in the Senate. The end result was feel good, but not much
else.
My SOLUTION is simple, we the people must take our ideal and our
party back. Believe me, this is no major funded movement ... a the time
of writing this mess I am one person hoping to gain more!! Some things I
believe MUST be added to the Republican Platform:
- The Fair Tax - This was advertised so negative against the
people who promoted it with them saying "he proposed a 23%
sales tax." The correct response would be YES, and I also
proposed eliminating the IRS and the INCOME TAX. But everyone
cowered from this position. See http://fairtax.org
- Term LIMITS - The President must have them, the only time
congress worked for good was in 1994 when the YOUNG Republican
members pushed their IDEALS. Two terms for the HOUSE and SENATE.
This is not ROCKET SCIENCE, you don't need years in the lab to
figure things out. Do what you said you would do and don't stay
there long enough to let the system corrupt you!!
- Campaign Finance Reform - This needs to become simple don't
know how, but we need to understand that once you are getting
funds you owe someone something. That is also why I will
disclose 100% of donations made to this organization.
- Balanced Budget - Don't spend more than you make!! We have to
do that, why not the Feds?? Granted they can print more money
and we can't ... the mentality should be cut taxes AND spending.
Don't need to make the jokes about drunken sailors ... no matter
how little they have, they still find a way!!
- Energy Independence - We need more plans and incentives to
break us away from our foreign energy dependency. I come from an
engineering background and know most of the technologies are
there we just need to refine them and make them more cost
effective. We should also strive as an individual to lower our
"Carbon Footprint", more to reduce our own dependency
which will in turn help the nation!! Way we do that is develop
"green technologies" which will allow a cost saving in
the near term not the long term. Solar, wind, geothermal, and
more are all "free" sources of energy if we can reduce
the hard costs. Save money, help our
country, win win to me!!
- Government Control of Corporate America - Well after watching
us "invest" $700B to bail out the banks so many like
AGI could party on our dime, it got me upset. Guess what that's
business!! If you make risky loans, cannot see forward enough to
change your model, enjoy the good times too much, don't plan
properly or whatever is done to cause a business to fail, then
you fail. The government should only provide oversight and
enforcement for the ones who fraudulently cause the business to
fail. There should be a little less protection behind the
"corporate veil" when the public trust is compromised.
- MORE TO FOLLOW TRYING TO BUILD A NEW REPUBLICAN PLATFORM WHICH
NEW CANDIDATES CAN RUN ON. I would like to see our group regain
congress in 2010 and the White House in 2012!!! We can do it if
we Keep It Simple Stupid.
